I am excited to share a newly completed living room project on the Upper East Side with you!
comfortable, I think this multifunction space strikes a lovely balance
of traditional and contemporary living, which perfectly describes my
client's great sense of style. She loves color, prints, and isn't afraid to mix styles, all while maintaining a welcoming
We incorporated not only pretty prints into this soft palette, but also lots of texture through fabrics and finishes. For example, the windows are covered in luxe white velvet while the coffee table has a more rustic - albeit refined - feel. Glamorous seamlessly meets a functional sensibility with plenty of great accessories such as a bone inlay tray and lamp and lots of eye-catching mercury glass. One
of my favorite pieces is the settee that got recovered in a wildly,
colorful pattern that really grabs you, drawing you into the room.
While you can't see it from these photos, we also just painted the entryway leading into the living room Farrow and Ball's Hague Blue. Dramatic, but polished, the rich color really sets off this light and airy living space. Some detailed shots will hopefully give you a sense of the impact.
I love how this space became truly dynamic with great mix of patterns, prints, and color!
